Charging Information for Chevy Volt

The Chevy Volt charges through an industry standard J1772 connector. It has no D.C. fast charge capability. The car can charge at a maximum of 16A/240V via a third party EVSE. This allows the car to easily fully charge its relatively small battery overnight.

The Volt also comes with a mobile EVSE that can charge at 12A/120V. The mobile EVSE in Volts from 2016 model year on can be used to charge from 240V sources with the use of external pigtail adapters.
